Adel Dawood

Managing Director

Adel Dawood established Asia Mideast Insurance and Reinsurance Pty Ltd (AMIR) in Sydney in December 1997.

He is an experienced insurance executive with a broad and successful career in business development and underwriting.

Adel has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alexandria, in Egypt; is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute, London; and a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter with the American Institute for Property and Casualty Underwriters. He holds a Diploma of Financial Services and is an ANZIIF Senior Associate.

Adel’s insurance career began in 1971, when he worked as a Reinsurance Officer for the National Insurance Company in Egypt.

He held senior roles with insurers in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Qatar before moving to Australia and establishing AMIR.

He has wide experience in energy, property and construction insurance, and strong business connections with all major international insurance brokers, particularly in the London market.

Adel is a results-oriented team leader with a positive attitude and effective interpersonal communication skills.
